Eiichi Shioya
Japanese Dragon Artist from Kyoto
Based in Kyoto, Japan Eiichi Shioya is a Kyoto-based artist renowned for his powerful and spiritually evocative dragon paintings. Rooted in the traditions of Japanese “Nihonga”, his work embodies both classical technique and a contemporary sensibility.He studied under Tozaburo Ono, a distinguished master of Japanese painting and a member of the prestigious Nitten exhibition. In 1976, Shioya established his own company, initially pursuing a career in textile design, which continues to influence the refined patterns and dynamic compositions seen in his artwork today.
